Contact Point Foundations Seminar Jan 2022 (3)

Thank you for clicking! I’m happy to see your interest.

As bike fitters and people working in the cycling industry we come across people every day. We work 1:1, in small teams and with larger organisations.

In a flexible industry like ours, it can be easy to move from one shop or team to another. Yet sometimes, the reasons for moving seem to follow us to the next job. Or staff members keep leaving for the same reasons. Maybe you set up business on your own to get some freedom and are finding different struggles. Or perhaps you stay put and gloss over any interpersonal issues in favour of a tech-focussed offering.

I have worked with bike fitters for over 15 years and seen first hand the challenges of the professional and personal side of the work. I have supported staff through mental breakdowns, celebrated successes and been the last one out at the end of the day because one more job needed doing. I have also sat at home waiting for my other half to come home after “a bikey half-hour”, got angry when I couldn’t do my thing and learned to love the people that came through my door.

Now I have the joy and honour of opening the doors to the IBFI via Zoom.

In this introductory seminar, you will explore the basics of interpersonal neurobiology, discover some reasons why people do what they do, and leave with ways of encouraging yourself and those around you.

*This is a required precursor to the 6 session course.*

Some feedback from our first sessions –

“I noticed something in my own thinking that’s having an impact on the way people view my interactions. I’m ready to learn more.”

“I am able to relax and connect more with the client during bike fits.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the material. I find it quite valuable and a refreshing approach in an industry that tends to brush aside any and all feelings for the guise of strength, sales, etc.”
